The Cache County Fire District currently has a job opening for two seasonal wildland firefighters beginning May 28 and ending approximately Oct 1. Normal work hours will be from 8 am to 5 pm with additional hours as needed for fire suppression.

Essential Functions: Perform fuels mitigation and wildland fire suppression. Skill in the safe operation and use of all wildland firefighting equipment including but not limited to saws, pumps, hose, hand tools, vehicle operations, and vehicle maintenance. Ability to work independently and deal effectively with stress caused by firefighting operations, fatigue, and heat. Ability to work well with the public and represent the agency at public education forums. The work environment will primarily be outside for the duration of the fire season. Work setting will include heat, direct sun, dust, smoke, and other environmental hazards associated with wildland firefighting. Tasks require a variety of physical activities such as walking, hiking, standing, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required for most essential function. Heavy lifting up to 100 lbs may be required
